From the artist:
Most of us collect objects as reminders and memory triggers of experiences, and often pair them with photographs or videos. The objects and the memories they trigger are important in how we see ourselves and how we develop our identities – personal or cultural. As the images and objects accumulate they also become part of the emotional (and physical) weight we carry.
As time goes on, memories become blurry and start to blend together. We start to establish common threads, and see themes among these experiences – even if these threads are not intentional. This creates not only a loss of clarity, but also allows the memories to be rewritten with each telling.
This interactive work will invite audiences to ride the bicycle, write with chalk, and explore ephemeral digital objects and word games through an augmented reality app.
