In conjunction with Terrain Exhibitions and the City of Chicago’s Year of Public Art, Space | Place is a site-specific public art exhibition featuring outdoor installations for the 3rd Terrain Biennial, from decorative gardens to street art. Terrain democratizes art by making it publicly accessible and free for viewers through placement in unconventional outdoor spaces. This inaugural Terrain Biennial in Detroit will transform sites in Detroit’s Island View and West Village neighborhoods, exploring placemaking in public spaces.
Featuring Jamie Hall, Asia Hamilton, and Allen Moore. Co-Organized by Janice Bond, Eli Gold, and Sadie Woods.

Jamie Hall, 7909 Agnes St
Jamie Hall’s interest in gardening was sparked through family tradition. She grew up on the southside of Chicago, studying agriculture at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences and later participating in a master gardener program in Oakland County, Michigan.

Allen Moore, 1312 Mt Elliott St
Allen Moore is and Black American Painter and Experimental Sound artist born and raised in the small village of Robbins IL, (south side of Chicago). Allen holds a Masters in Art from Governors State University and a Masters of Fine Art from Northern Illinois University. His work converses with signifiers of Black culture and personal narrative; bringing to view the underlying themes of racial, emotional and socio-economical conditions.

Asia Hamilton, 1312 Mt Elliott St
In her 20-year career as a photographer, Asia Hamilton has cultivated a talent for capturing moments the way they are -- those rare, raw and precious glimpses of life that exist in between poses and pretense. She specializes in portraits, landscapes, textures and nudes and is drawn to existing, untouched composition, which she says, is a reflection of her own authenticity. She has shot celebrities and worked as a photojournalist for the Detroit Free Press and produced special projects for major corporations, including Ford Motor, Co.
