Artist June Diamond will create an installation entitled, Curtain, to change the environment of a residence at 3651 Mimosa Dr, Los Angeles, California. For a period of six weeks, visual access to the house, front yard, and by extension, neighborhood, will be altered by the installation. June Diamond will be installing an oversized 22-foot long by 13-foot high curtain across the front of the entire house. The curtain, made of aluminum and steel, will be able to open and close, with slats similar to vertical blinds. The curtain will expose the front of the house at different times of the day, in part or whole, as determined by the artist.

 

 

June Diamond is a graduate of the CalArts B.F.A. program. June has worked extensively with recycled sculptural materials such as glass, steel, copper, aluminum and brass. Her work ranges from functional objects to conceptual installation pieces.
